Medieval City # 1
I find London a fascinating city, a hustle and bustle of energy in a metropolis of steeped in
history and culture. When visiting I like nothing more than getting up before sunrise and just
walking the streets with my camera. Everyone always seems to be so purposed and focused
on their affairs for the day that I am hardly noticed. Combine this energy with a city
that exudes character and I lose myself in photography heaven. This shot was taken at an
entrance to one of the many subways in London. One of the reasons I like photographing
early morning is because you don’t have masses of people around. I was going to shoot this
picture without the pedestrian and while playing around with the composition I heard the
footsteps of someone approaching. When I looked back and saw a middle aged man dressed
in black approaching. I instantly knew that I had a shot in the making. As he passed by and
walked down the subway I got off one exposure. I was very pleased with the placement of
the individual and the line created by the balustrades. The picture somehow reminds me of
monastery. |
