EDEN # 1
This photograph was taken in Scotland near Fort William. One evening, the
owners of the guesthouse where we were staying found out that I was a photographer. With
much excitement they offered lots of advice by pointing out scenic hotspots in the area.
Among others they informed me that there was an overgrown forest, within a short driving
distance, covered in moss. Later that day I set out to try and find it. Anybody who has visit
this beautiful country will know that navigating your way around the back roads of Scotland
is not easy. At about four o’clock and I had still not found the location and I almost turned
back believing that this forest did not exist. I remember driving around a corner and there
is way, I have honestly never seen anything quite so beautiful. For the first half an hour I
had stage fright, like a kid in a candy store, I did not know where to start. Finally venturing
off the road I found the composition I was looking for. I was so excited I shot the picture
four times on two different cameras just to make sure I didn’t mess up. Driving home I said
to my wife that if this shot and this shot alone comes out like I imagine it the entire trip to
Britain would be worth it…I was not disappointed. |
